Welcome Message from the new HHJ/FTLC Principal........
Dear Students & Families: I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and express to you how honored and excited I am to assume the principal-ship of Helen Hunt Jackson & Family Tree Learning Center. To tell you a little about myself, my experience in education span more than 27 years. Most recently, I was assistant principal at Acacia Middle School where, before entering administration, I taught U.S. History for quite a few years. My other experiences range from serving in a variety of jobs in business, teaching in other alternative education programs, and enlisting in the U.S. Navy. What I've learned already in this new position is that Helen Hunt Jackson & Family Tree Learning Center are great schools full of potential. It's going to be a busy year as we move forward with implementation of the new Common Core curriculum and prepare for our WASC accreditation renewal. We also want to encourage student and parent participation in extracurricular activities which builds a feeling of community. Lots of new, innovative ideas are already being shared. By working together, we will continue to provide our current and future students with the best learning opportunities and support they need to fulfill all their educational goals. When you're in the office, be sure to stop by and say, "hi." I look forward to meeting you all! Best regards to you and your families. |
